I walked through their home and was greeted by a rush of nostalgia—perhaps a little too much nostalgia. I was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff cluttering every available surface. The ingenuity was genuinely impressive.

I realized it was not one person’s fault. When raising a family of four kids in a small home, life gets busy. Gifts and phases push more and more unneeded or unwanted things into space that doesn’t exist. For my parents, it was more than twenty years of buildup. That realization sent me on a mission to give back. I began breaking one large, overwhelming problem into smaller, workable projects.

Over several days, I worked through every corner of my parents’ home—clearing clutter, reorganizing the spaces, and helping address some of the mess I had contributed to over the years. They did not want or need many of the things they were storing; they simply did not know where to begin.

After more than six years in the professional moving business—including running my own local moving company back in Washington State—I hope to take all that I have learned and help my local community reclaim, organize, and reset their spaces while building practical systems that provide lasting change.
